Tennyson, IN – The 2010 PKC World Beagle Championship had 64 entries on Friday, March 19th. The beautiful
weather made for an outstanding weekend in Southern Indiana. On Saturday morning, 17 cast winners from Friday advanced to the semi finals to compete for the World Champion title. After the dust settled, it came down to a five dog final. Congrats to Donnie Gaines of Pryor, Oklahoma and Trent Wood on winning with Shay, a 21 month old Bluetick female. Donnie brought home $1,200 with the win! Congrats to these other hounds for rounding out the top four. Second place paid $600 and went to Piggs Hollow Lil Reba, owned by Kenny Burk of Belfast, TN and handled by Raymond Miller. Third place paid $400 and went to Nestuka Clyde, owned by Ray Ferdig of Decatur, AR. Fourth place paid $300 and went to Branko's Ten Mile Andy, owned by Gary Beaty of Ten Mile, TN and handled by T J Rayfield. We had a great turn out on the bench show, congrats to Lance Spivey and Rocky Top for winning Best Male and Best of Show. Rocky Top earned $207 for his accomplishment. Harold Pillar had the Best Female with Pillar's Little Bonnie. We would like to personally thank each and every participant at the hunt. This hunt was a fine demonstration of sportsmanship. There was not a single argument or protest over the course of the entire weekend!
A special thanks goes out to the members of Boonville Beagle Club and Warrick County Coon Club for hosting the event. We also appreciate Pet Food Center for donating Sportmix dog food to the Final Four. Again, thanks to everyone who came out and we are looking forward to next year!
